A surface trough was forecast to extend from Eastern Montana down through the Dakotas into Nebraska and Kansas. Strong heating along this boundary would contribute to large MLCAPE beneath modest mod-level flow. Isolated supercells were forecast from Southern South Dakota into Northern Nebraska.

July 19th featured a surface trough that was expected to be in place from Montana into Eastern Colorado as a mid-level impulse ejected from the Northern Rockies. In Western Nebraska low to mid 60°F dewpoints were forecast to be present with higher values along a boundary present.

July 10th featured a modest belt of southwesterly low level flow atop a relatively moist low level atmosphere would prime the atmosphere for severe thunderstorms during the afternoon. With large CAPE values in Eastern Nebraska things would be primed for supercell development before upscale growth later in the evening.

July 7th was another low end severe weather day. A shortwave trough was forecast to move into the Northern Plains through the evening along the top of a ridge. MLCAPE in Nebraska was forecast to be around 2500 J/Kg. The target looked to be in Northeastern Nebraska along the instability axis from Lake Andes, SD to Albion.

July 6th was a low end severe day. A shortwave trough was forecast to move into the Colorado/Wyoming/Nebraska area while at the surface dewpoints were expected to be in the mid to upper 50s in northeast Colorado around a broad surface low. Storms would fire along the foothills then migrate into the plains of Northeastern Colorado.
